The wonderful Michele Hauf is having a mess o' contests on May Day. She'll be the guest on a few blogs and at each, she'll be giving away downloads of her debut novel, Racing the Moon. If you'd like to win a copy of the story that Paranormal Romance Reviews called "Fast, furious and sexy," please visit these blogs:
Amanda at Love Vampires has a terrific, in-depth interview with Charlaine Harris, author of the Southern Vampire novels. "Sookie’s a hard worker and a church goer. She keeps her house clean and orderly and she pays her bills on time. Unfortunately, from time to time she has to kill someone." (Love Vampires)Here's Amanda's review of Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. "I first found the Sookie Stackhouse books when I was living in small town rural deep south America and I was amased by how well the author, Charlaine Harris, managed to capture the feeling of small town life in the South."
Article about Stephanie Meyer and her adult novel, The Host. "I didn't write it differently, but some of the issues are different. I had the chance to explore a mother-daughter relationship and that's not really a YA thing." (The Canadian Press)
Interview with M.M. Smith, aka, Mike Marshall Smith, on the U.K. release of his short ghost novel, The Servants. "I've always wanted to have the chance to write longer stories of the fantastical set in the present day, and now the door is open... I'm sure more will come. When I get the time..."
Read my interview with Esri Rose, the author of Bound to Love Her. She talks about how she came to write a fantasy novel about the clash of the world of elves and humans. She'll be giving away a copy of her debut novel. The contest ends Friday evening.
MOVIES & DVDS
"Twilight" teaser trailer is being shipped out to theaters with "Speed Racer." "Either way, there's a very good chance you'll be seeing it in theaters or online on or around Friday, May 9th." (Shock Till You Drop)
TELEVISION
And I was just whining that we don't hear enough about Anthony Stewart Head, aka, Giles on "Buffy." Here's an interview with Anthony Head about the "Ripper" project. "All I can say is that it’s a ghost story. But a ghost story with a real Joss Whedon difference. It’s got such a twist to it. But I wouldn't want to give it away. It would be the worst spoiler of all time."
Nathan Fillion, another of Joss Whedon's crew, may have the lead in a dramedy called "Castle." "Fillion starred in the one-season Joss Whedon series, Firefly as well as last year’s cancelled Fox show, Drive." (Cinema Blend)
Watch an interview with Neil Patrick Harris, who talks about his role in Joss Whedon web musical, Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. "He's wanting to be a member of the Evil League of Evil. He has aspirations to be a big supervillian, and we sing about it." (Entertainment Weekly)
Article on "Supernatural" season one vs. season two. "Continuing its spooky roadtrip across the dark heart of America, the Supernatural TV series has just been renewed for a fourth season of adventure-packed demon hunting." (UK SF Book News)
GRATUITOUS VIDEO OF THE DAY
I'm trying to catch up on the Gerald Butler love. YouTube would crash and burn if not for the passionate efforts of Tom Jones.

You know, I never really appreciated Tom Jones before. The previous video's subject was also Gerard Butler, but the Jonesian Effect give Gerry that little sumpin' sumpin' extra.
I wonder if this Jonesian Phenomena would have this effect on other man candy subjects.
We'll need more empirical proof, Marta!
Great decision to catch up on the GB love! :) If you're not familiar with Gerry you probably haven't seen him in Phantom of the Opera(which I love-my daughter watched it with me over and over)! :) I'd start with the movie 300 though...it's all abs and thighs! When it first came out I begged my hubby to take me to see it twice that first week(he thought it was great I wanted to see a guy movie!)...umm - likin' it! :) Jonesian Phenom? Interesting!?! Kristin :)
Just so you know - it's Gerard - way hotter than Gerald! ;)
Kristin :)
Hi, Bev, I'm very happy to enlighten you as to the Tom Jonesian effect, which is something like: N x (Tom Jones song)= N hawtness x N. It's exponential, but I can't write it out properly here.
There is no GB video with Tom Jones' "Sex Bomb" or "I'm Too Sexy," but I will try to learn how to make one.
Krisin, thanks for the spelling correction. Mea culpa. Haven't seen POTO, but know it has rabid cult of fans. Will check out 300.
