AUTHORS & BOOKS
Did I mention that I'm on vacation? Oh, well. You can't still enter the contest for one of Colleen Gleason's Gardella Vampire Chronicle books!
Stephanie Meyer is posting "Quotes of the Day" from her upcoming novel, Breaking Dawn. "Quotes from characters Edward, Alice, Bella, Emmett, Charlie and others are featured from unknown scenarios." (All Headline News)
Blog to Watch: I just found Reading with a Bite, a blog devoted to "vampire fiction and more." This blog, written by the mysterious Ms. Lulubelle, includes a list of exciting new releases (yes, including The Bride of Casa Dracula), reviews, analysis, videos, and vampy graphics. How come I've never found this blog before? I'm adding it to my faves!
TELEVISION & THE INTERNETS
Joss Whedon is creating a second premiere for his upcoming series, "Dollhouse." "Whedon, whose previous series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly cemented him as a cult favorite, has decided that the original pilot was not as good as it could have been, and that the first episode could use some more 'pop.'" (Buddy TV)
Interview with Joss Whedon about "Dollhouse" and "Dr. Horrible." "“We wanted natural elements. We wanted to do anything that would say, ‘This is not anything but a happy, harmonious home, don’t ask any questions.'” (Chicago Tribune)
MOVIES & DVDS
Review of "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." "...there was a time when I loved immersing myself in Chris Carter's weekly instalment of paranoia, conspiracy and free-floating anxiety, seasoned with regular dashes of the paranormal." (The Age) I'm afraid to read the whole review.
Here's another review of "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." "Mulder, if you will recall, is in hiding - on the run from an FBI looking to frame him for … something or another." (Big Picture, Big Sound)
Interview with David Duchovny about his role as Fox Mulder in "The X-Files." "Mulder is a recluse after becoming disillusioned with the FBI but is drawn back to the agency to help with a case, where a supposedly psychic paedophile priest (played by Billy Connolly) is assisting a taskforce as they hunt for a missing female agent." (The News)
Interview with "The X-Files" producer, Frank Spotnitz. "This new movie is a stand-alone film. Audiences will get it without seeing the series. But it follows in that 'X-Files' tradition of scaring the pants off people." (CTV)Where are the stars of "The X-Files" television series now? Here's a photo gallery and info. (LA Times)
Amanda Peet talks about her role in "The X-Files: I Want to Believe." "Peet takes on the role of FBI Agent Dakota Whitney and appears alongside Fox Mulder(Duchovny) during a chilly investigation. " (CBS News) If you click on the video, you have to watch a stupid commercial first.
Review of "Fright Night" from 1985. "Fright Night is a unique film, unlike all of the other vampire films that have come down the pipeline before or since. It’s as if the actors are all in on the joke, but the threat in the story is serious enough for it not to move into slapstick territory. " (Chud)
GRATUITOUS VIDEO OF THE DAY
This GVD goes out to "The X-Files." Most of the clips are from the hilarious two-part episode that co-starred the fabulous Michael McKean.
And it wouldn't be truly gratuitous if there wasn't some bad disco song to accompany the tribute.

Thanks for the shout out! I love your blog!
I am dying to see the new x files movie.
I can't wait either. The Sci-Fi channels airs one episode of the X-Files at 2 in the morning on weekdays. I try to watch them whenever I can. I haven't seen Californication yet.
