The Annotated Dracula; Vampire Movies; True Blood, Patrick Stewart

AUTHORS & BOOKS

Here's a very nice new review of my third novel, The Bride of Casa Dracula. "A funny book with a Bridget Jones meets Dracula edge, this book will appeal to paranormal fans wanting no-brooding with their vampire fiction. " (News & Sentinel)

Midnight Brew interviews J.K. Coi, author of Forever Immortal.
"When I started writing my first book it just came out as a paranormal. My voice lends itself to this genre the best, probably because I’m fascinated by the 'what if' scenarios." (Midnight Moon Cafe)

Review of Marjorie M. Liu's The Iron Hunt. "Maxine Kiss, demon prison warden, protects the world from the dark creatures that would decimate humanity and the world. " (Scooper Speaks)

Interview with Leslie S. Klinger, editor of The New Annotated Dracula - Bram Stoker. " Stoker says in the introduction to one of his editions that the narrative is based on actual documents given to him by his friends, whose names he’s changed. I wanted to analyze the narrative from the perspective of taking Stoker at his word." (Fantasy Book Critic)

Kimberly Swan reviews Leslie S. Klinger's The New Annotated Dracula - Bram Stoker. "...a treasure trove of information for anyone captivated by vampire tales, and more importantly for those who have a keen interest in the story of Dracula." (Darque Reviews)

Win a copy of Charlaine Harris's Dead Until Dark. "Simply write a couple of sentences about the HBO True Blood series on your website or blog and include a link back to this site, using the words “fantasy books” in the link." (Best Fantasy Stories) The book has a new cover, instead of the charming Chagall inspired artwork.

Patricia Altner's scary book contest runs through October 31. Lots of prizes! "I would like to know what is the scariest book you have ever read and why. " (Patricia's Vampire Notes)

MOVIES & DVDS

List of the 26 must-watch vampire movies.
"So turn down the lights, scent the air with cloves, pour yourself a glass of red wine and enter the world of video vampires. Take this movie tour - collected with trailer videos, photos, and plenty of chances to add your reviews and add your own suggestions." (Nola)

TELEVISION & THE INTERNETS

Interview with Ryan Kwanten, who plays Jason Stackhouse in HBO's "True Blood." "Undoubtedly, it’s the best experience of my acting career. Any inhibitions I had before starting the show are now long behind me." (Media Blvd.)

Recaplet of "True Blood," episode six. Warning: Spoilers. "It's been clear for a long time that the people of Bon Temps can be a nasty, and often randy, bunch, but when Sookie can't tune them out, she finds out they're also blaming her..." (Pioneer Local)

Another recap of "True Blood," episode six. "Sitting on the porch, Sam tries to get up the nerve to finally say 'Ry Rove Ru', but Sookie isn't having it, and asks him to 'fetch' Bill for her." (After Elton)

Here's a new promo for "True Blood." "Next week on October 19, the episode called "Burning House of Love" will unveil Sookie's painful childhood revelation about her." (Ace Showbiz)

GRATUITOUS VIDEO OF THE DAY

A great actor like Patrick Stewart deserves a tribute with a great song. No, I don't get tired of this song. Why do you ask?

And as Jean Luc Picard. Lovely editing of the clips!

"Any inhibitions I had before starting the show are now long behind me." << You can say that again! He gets naked more often than any other character on a show lol.

Yes, I'd heard as much. Well, that's a change from most shows where there are always gratuitous stripper scenes, and the guys wear suits to bed.
