(Publishers Weekly)

TELEVISION & DVDS

Review of HBO's "True Blood" episode 4. "This episode introduces us to Eric Northman, the blond sexy vampire who owns the Shreveport vampire bar Fangtasia." (Best Fantasy Stories)
Interview with Alexander Skarsgard, who plays Eric in "True Blood." "I did this right after I did Generation Kill, which was very dirty and sweaty, so it was amazing to do something so flamboyant and extravagant as Eric. He’s the complete polar opposite of my character in that, Brad Colbert. He wears sleek European suits and expensive shirts. I have a long blonde wig, and I’m obviously pale." (Media Blvd.)
Review of"True Blood" episode 4. "I think I expected more from the vampire bar aptly named Fangtasia. Like bats flying or more than just a few people moving quickly as they table dance. It was more Friday’s (even selling T-shirts) than it was dark and brooding." (if Magazine)
MOVIES & DVDSHere's the official poster for "Twilight." "It’s an MTV exclusive, it’s a thing of beauty, and it was photographed by 18-year-old wunderkind Joey Lawrence." (MTV) Gee, the poster looks like all the photos they've released before. Isn't Joey Lawrence the kid who was on "Blossom"?
Listen to "Decode" by Paramour, a single from the "Twilight" soundtrack. "Twilight really caught my attention and held it. I'm really excited to see the book adapted to film and excited that our band gets to be a part of the phenomenon." (Stephanie Meyer)
Review of "Bram Stoker's Dracula's Guest." "The story of Dracula continues beyond its classic origins in this romantic horror-adventure sequel that puts the creator himself, Bram Stoker, in the role of protagonist." (Movie Impact)
Info about Perry Farrell's song for "Twilight" soundtrack. "The Lollapalooza founder has written a brand-new song called 'Go All the Way,' which will appear in the eagerly anticipated vampire flick..." (MTV)
GRATUITOUS VIDEO OF THE DAY
Because I believe in continuity, here's a GVD featuring "Bad to the Bone" by George Thoroughgood. I like this song -- crank it up.
This GVD is for Tez, who will be in the continent as Clive Owen. And isn't that enough? It's a trailer for "The International" which will be released in 2009.

I think this is the third "authorized sequel" of a famous work that I've seen recently. Can you believe I've never read Dracula before? I actually have two copies of it but I've never read it.
Yay! Skarsgård!
"It was more Friday’s (even selling T-shirts) than it was dark and brooding.", Oh, if Magazine, seems y'all missed the point.
Re: their concept of what Eric Northman looks like...
His chin needs to be bigger. And his hands. Vikings just need to be BIGGER, okay?
Ladytink, I've never read Dracula either, but I have watched "Dracula 2000" for ten minutes at a time, and I think that counts.
J. how are you doing those fancy umblat-ty things? Do you know there's not one decent Skarsgard video on YouTube, even those he's been voted Sweden's sexiest man?
Esri, he's 6'4" for heavens sake -- and he was in "Zoolander" which counts for extra points. (6'4" is huge for an actor, many of whom are puny.)
I've been cutting & pasting to get the ring-accent mark (I'm sure there's a shortcut, but I don't know it)- the problem on youtube different things pop up with or without the accent mark on AS's name-
Have you seen this? --

Marta, thanks for scaring me half to death!!! ;) Just the threat of no more GVD's is horrifying!!! I don't even know what else to say...
:)
JK, are those accents all over the place or what? I was predisposed to like AS, but I found myself very distracted by his 'do, which is exactly like that of my high school best friend's. She was very tall and pretty, too.
Kristin, eventually Vampire Wire will fade away and all that will be left is a blog rotating the same videos of the same guys over and over again.
Then, there will be me...with a blank stare...watching them over and over(I could possibly be drooling...eww!) from the loony bin!!! This is not a pretty picture!!! :O
M, I'm immune to the accents on True Blood at this point-- too distracted by the many pretty men.
It would be one hell of coincidence if your high school friend also wore leather pants and kicked guys that looked like Tobias Fünke.*
*HA! an excuse to use more accent marks!
