Kimberly Swan reviews Carpe Corpus, the soon-to-be-released Morganville Vampires book by Rachel Caine. "Claire Danvers is just turning seventeen and while most others her age are attending their local high school, she’s been enrolled in college. Morganville isn’t just any college town, it’s a town run by vampires." (Darque Reviews)
The next book from Tanya Huff, the author of the Blood Ties series, is The Enchantment Emporium, which will be released in June. You can read a description at the publisher's website: "Alysha Gale is a member of a family capable of changing the world with the charms they cast."
Ah, this is entertaining! Scooper Speaks is now flavoring reviews/blurbs with recommendations of what to eat while reading the books mentioned. What best accompanies Emma Holly's Kissing Midnight? Sunday's best garlic roast beef. Links to recipes included!
Read an article on the upcoming CW series "The Vampire Diaries." "The Vampire Diaries features Ian Somerhalder, most famous for playing ill-fated Boone Carlyle in Lost, and was developed for TV by Dawson’s Creek creator, Kevin Williamson. Williamson also wrote the teen-scream feature films I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream."So, basically, the more you know about the people creating this series, the more you should be worried, but Ian Somerhalder is beautiful in a Rob Lowe circa "St. Elmo's Fire" way.
SciFi Guy has a "The Vampire Diaries" teaser video. You should also check out the new book covers he's featuring.
In "Twilight" and "New Moon" news, there's a video featuring Cam Gigandet, who plays James, on Funny or Die. Like most Funny or Die videos, it isn't actually funny, but now I finally know how to pronounce Gigandet.
Last year, Comic-Com was mobbed by "Twilight" fans for their panels and sneak previews, and this year the huge convention will feature a panel on "The Twilight Saga: New Moon." "The announcement mentions 'exclusive new footage' and maybe 'even a surprise or two.'" (MTV)
GRATUITOUS VIDEO OF THE DAY
Now that we're on the subject of Rob Lowe, I thought I'd find some videos celebrating his amazing pulchritude. Here's a guy who was always ten times more beautiful than any of his female co-stars.
The young Lowe, object of '80s fantasies.
Since Rob is a guy who, like Edward Cullen, sparkles in the sunlight, it was only natural that he would be featured in an '80s tribute to "Twilight." Video courtesy of Summerlala22.

Hehehe...Rob Lowe...a most delectable choice for a vampire. I don't know why I didn't see it before!! You know who else? This 80s icon didn't get the play that Top Gun Tom Cruise did but Val Kilmer's ice cold blue eyes, blond hair, and all those muscles...((sigh))...yummmy
I loved Rob Lowe back in the day. I use to have his picture up on wall right next to my bed. He was so beautiful, yes he rock as a Vampire.
Cybercliper, I'll do an '80s tribute next week on my GVDs. Val Kilmer -- yes, I'll still watch several minutes of "Real Genius" when it runs on cable. However, even I can't deal with "The Doors."
Shell, that's too funny! Rob was always a little too pretty for my taste. I've really enjoyed his humorous turns, though, especially in "Wayne's World II."
You know, I always thought Ian Somerhalder looked like someone but I could never put my finger on it. You nailed! Yes, he does looked like pretty boy Rob Lowe. I remember collecting his pictures out Tiger Beat to put up on my walls. I had the biggest little girl crush on Mr. Lowe growing up.
Rob Lowe - excellent vampire material - definitely St. Elmos Fire or later 'Salem Lot - excellent viewage.
Val Kilmer - hot damn yes, but Top Gun,Real Genius, or Top Secret Kilmer, not The Doors or Heat Kilmer - too moody and depressed.
Dottie :)
Thanks for the heads up on the new Tanya Huff book Marta. I got in touch with her to guest blog in June about it :)
