Contest for Keri Arthur's BOUND TO SHADOWS

"Ms. Arthur is at the top in her genre, and every new release shows that talent to its fullest. Deadly Desire is a dark and sexy read with an engrossing plot and well-detailed scenes."
"Exciting fare with plenty of action, so that horror fans will eagerly anticipate the next installment in a fresh, sexy series."
Publishers Weekly

"...top-notch thriller series set in a slightly futuristic Australia."

Because I'm extra busy this week, I don't have much time to blog, but I'm happy to announce that I've got a contest for a copy of Keri Arthur's soon-to-be-released Bound to Shadows.

Here's a summary of Keri's novel, the eighth in the Riley Jenson Guardian series:

In the darkness, demons come out to play . . . and someone must bring their sins to light.

Part vampire, part werewolf, Riley Jenson knows what can happen when vamps don’t play well with others. But she’s never seen anything like this: a series of brutal murders surrounding the latest hot spot for vampire-human hookups—and the victims aren’t just killed, they’re beheaded. Now Riley is launching into action, toying with a seductive—and highly suspicious—club owner, and finding herself in the middle of another mystery: women being killed one by one, without a trace of violence.

For Riley, solving multiple cases—in a world going mad with human and vampire passions—would have been tough enough. Instead she has two jealous lovers on her hands: Kye Murphy, the amber-eyed werewolf who makes Riley’s wolf blood howl—and Quinn, the cool, elegant vamp who has over a thousand years’ experience at fulfilling women’s desires. While she’s busy juggling these two sexy beasts, Riley’s detective work takes a stunningly violent turn. Finding a murderer is now a matter of life and death. Especially since the killer has long since found her . . .

You can read an excerpt of Bound to Shadows here and learn more about Keri Arthur and her novels by visiting her website.

Contest Info
  1. To enter, just leave a comment mentioning your very favorite series (book, movie, or television). It doesn't have to be paranormal or urban fantasy. Maybe you stayed up late every night because you were hooked on the dramatic-thriller "Gilligan's Island" and needed to see if they ever escaped. (Hmm, is "Lost" an homage to the existential angst of Gilligan?)
  2. Contest runs through Thursday night, October 29.
  3. Limited to U.S. and Canada.
  4. Winner will be chosen at random using my patented Vampire Wire paper-bag-with-numbers randomizer.

GRATUITOUS VIDEOS OF THE DAY

Here's an interesting mashup from PeanutButter88 of Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) of "True Blood" and Faith of "Buffy" (Eliza Dushku).

And for those who like Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric Northman...knock yerselves out.

My favorite TV show is Futurama, I was bummed when they took it off the air, but I'm glad they've decided to bring it back...I still watch the re-runs and have them set to record.

I love the Riley Jenson series as well as many many others!

Hi, everyone!

Jeanette, very brave of you to admit to watching "Vampire Diaries." I tried because that guy who played Boone on "Lost" was on it, but the guy with the eyebrows scared me.

Tetetwa, I'm with ya on "Supernatural"!

Donnas, although I always wanted to slap Ross on "Friends," I thought Lisa Kudrow was great.

Bella, those movies are way too scary for me. Even scarier than that guy with the eyebrows on "Vampire Diaries."

TRBLCMN and Erin, you know that Ward's books are referred to as crack for reader's because they're so addictive.

Michelle, I heard that "Hex" was good, but never got a chance to watch it.

Riah, one of my friends was absolutely hooked on that show.

Sara, love, love, love "Futurama."

Kim's blog sent me over to your blog, what an exciting contest.

My favorite series, I would have to say, is The Protector of the Small by Tamora Pierce. A close second would be the Heart series by Robin D. Owen.

Tamora's books are the kind of books that are comfort books, if you know what I mean. Robin's are very much a feel good series for me and I just love her world that she has created. I love the personalities of the Residences and the Ship, to say nothing about the Fams and the peoples as well.

Marta said...

Hi, Everyone!

Tine, I got a google alert that Keri had mentioned the contest. I was happy to read that she visits here and I think I've got to have a Q&A with her soon.

Jessilly, I got a friend started on the Discworld series. A zillion books in that.

Pixie, that is pretty funny -- the Munsters.

Mitz, I wondered how the books read for someone who starts with the series first. As someone who loved the novels, I have a really tough time with a show that deviates from them.

Karen said...

I just can not pick an absolute favorite, I just can't. So I'd say that right now my 3 favorites are Twilight(and yes I am over 20), Rachel Vincent's shifters and Keri's Riley Jensen books. I'm excited to see where Riley is going to end up! I know it sounds crazy to want a series to end, but I know that Keri will do the series justice.

Marta said...

Doug, please be sure to tell me when your review is up so I can link it!

Jen D. said...

Hi Marta. Thanks for the great contest.

Favorite book series include Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine, Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs, Hollows series by Kim Harrison and the Riley Jenson series.

Count me in!

Okay...I'm a Clint Eastwood fan from Hang Em High and a Fist Full of Dollars.....

I love him and still find myself watching these moves over and over.

That poncho, that slim cigarette..and of course the guitar strumming and the music that swells to let you know that its time for "shoot out" and of course the slogan...go ahead and make my day...

My husband and I watch the dvd's all the time and we even watch with the kids. It has great music and great wardrobe too!
