The sun is shining so I've got the doors and windows open and I'm trying to get into the Christmas mood because there are presents to be bought and wrapping to be done. I'm also caught up in a new writing project, The Poison Tree, set in the 1850s and the present with ghosts and madwomen.
I love end-of-the-year videos set to holiday songs. Sometimes I find great ones in July, and it's hard to hold off on posting them. Now I can indulge in all these holiday treats, which I'll run through the end of the week. Enjoy!
This is the most invigorating and most fun version of "The 12 Days of Christmas" I've ever heard.

I don't read many historicals, but the ones I'm in usually feature one or more of the following:
-Mental illness (in particular, asylums)
-Opium addiction
-Adventures with absinthe
-Old-timey sex machines (by that I mean mechanisms, not people)
Considering what you briefly mentioned of The Poison Tree - you said madwomen - this project intrigues me! :-)
Hi, Tez, oh, I like a good asylum story. Have you ever read Sarah Waters' Fingersmith? It's one of my favorite historicals. I haven't read any opium addiction ones. Can you recommend one?
Mine has ghosts and visions.
Ooo-o a new book? Can't wait!
Thanks for the gvd's. Loved the 12 days. I think I might steal that one.
Happy Holidays!
Hi, Dot! I've got two new projects in the works: one is The Poison Tree and the other is a YA featuring a character from Dark Companion.
Go ahead and use the 12 days video! It's a lot of fun.
oooooh I can't wait!!!
Hi, Style - I'm writing as fast as I can -- although I'm one of those writers who mulls over things and changes them. I'll be cutting back on the length of my blog posts in order to write more.
