Have a Very Batty Christmas!

Illustrator and author Jeff Berg wrote to tell me about his children's book, Mrs. Claus & the Batty Christmas. Jeff says, "I wrote it for my daughter who asked me on Christmas morning 'Dad, how do vampires get their presents if their up all night?'"

Good question and I'm glad that we'll finally know the answer! You can learn more about Jeff's Christmas treat for his kids and enjoy some of his fun and lively illustrations at the Batty Christmas website.

Want a great and FREE ebook to dive into over the holidays? Amazon is offering a free download of the very popular Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey.  Publishers Weekly gave this young adult paranormal a starred review and said:
Down-to-earth mathlete Jessica Packwood is completely horrified when, a few months shy of her 18th birthday, a Romanian named Lucius Vladescu shows up on her doorstep, claiming that he and she are vampire royalty betrothed to each other since infancy—what's worse, her adoptive parents verify the betrothal story and explain that her birth parents identified themselves as vampires, too. Fantaskey makes this premise work by playing up its absurdities without laughing at them, endowing Jessica with a coolly ironic sensibility and Lucius with old-world snobberies that Jessica's girlfriends find irresistible.
I've been wanting to read this book since I read the first rave reviews, so I'm going to try to download it to my Nook. I wanted to add the cover graphic here, but Blogger is being balky. You can visit Beth's website to learn more about her series.

GRATUITOUS HOLIDAY VIDEOS OF THE DAY

Some are old and some are new but all are holiday themed!

Okay,it's not a Christmas song, but it was made for the Christmas season.

I usually don't post slideshows, but I admire all the labor that has gone into this obsessed fangirl video. I can practically feel the glitter swirling around my brain.

Since I'm doing slideshows, check out this one to this odd, compelling "I'd Like You For Christmas" by Julie London. I've never heard this song before. It makes me think of mod London, late night parties, ennui, and smexytimes between girls with cat-eyeliner and sequined dresses and suave guys in narrow suits.
