Earthquakes and Contests

Another earthquake (4.4)  last night, centered, oh, where I live, so I am appropriately freaked out again. Now to the important stuff.

First, let me announce the winner of Christopher Farnsworth's May release, Red, White, and Blood, is:

MICHELLE PAR

Congrats, Michelle, and send me your mailing address so I can mail your prize from my earthquake-laden neck of the woods.

If you're not a member of Goodreads, you might want to join. The site is addictive for book lovers, with information about old, new, and upcoming reads and authors. There are also plenty of contests, including:

-15 copies of Perception by Kim Harrington (through March 31)
-10 copies of A Want So Wicked by Suzanne Young (through May 11)

Sioban at Totally Bookalicious is giving away a really fun fan pack of prizes for Alma Katsu's The Taker. The prize pack includes a book ARC, bookmarks, cover art, all sorts of stuff.

Do you need an e-reader? Roxanne at Fang-Tastic Books has a guest blog by M.M. Shelley, author of the The Zombie Story, and a giveaway for a Kindle.

Suzanne Johnson has a new Reader's Choice Contest at Preternatura, and prizes include:  Wicked Edge by Nina Bangs, Now or Never by Michelle Bardsley, Fair Game by Patricia Briggs, and, oh, just so much more!

Erica at The Book Cellar reviews Jessica Shirvington's The Embrace and has a contest for the book. She calls the new release "a stellar read."

The Book Pixie has a contest for an ARC of  The Syndicate by Shelena Shorts. Here's a chance to get an early read of a book that doesn't come out until July.

KMont at Lurv A La Mode is having a contest for Patricia Briggs's Fair Game. It's a beautiful hardback edition of the book that we'd all like on our bookshelves.

GRATUITOUS VIDEOS OF THE DAY

Earthquakes mean that the theme is shaking, rattling, rolling, rocking, trembling.

And in French.

I've posted this before, but it's worth watching again especially for the first scenes from the terrific Misfits.
