DARK COMPANION'S Release Day

At long last, Dark Companion is released!

A kazillion years ago I decided to write an homage to one of my favorite novels, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Many things have happened in those kazillion years: nations have fallen, nations have risen, Twitter was invented and MySpace pretty much died, e-readers appeared, Borders Bookstores vanished, the blogosphere exploded, and rocketships have landed on the sun...okay, maybe not yet.

In the interim, I posted a free read of my book with wonderful cover art created by Amanda at LoveVampires. I had a lot of help and support with my story during the kazillion years. Sincere thanks to everyone who read the book, gave a review or a blurb, or offered suggested revisions. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I wanted to share a few nice new reviews for my book.

"Dark Companion, however, goes beyond everything that I usually experience while reading a book I enjoy...You name it, this book has it: atmosphere; vibrant characters; humor; romance; suspense; and chills galore. Dark Companion is definitely this Jane Eyre fan's cup of tea."

"So I love, LOVE, LOVED this story apparently. I can't write enough words to gush about this without telling you the story. I've read a LOT of YA and this is the first time that I've read a story of this caliber! Marta Acosta is in a field of her own, DARK COMPANION managed to fire up not only my emotions and imagination but my intellect as well."

"First off, I HIGHLY recommend this exquisite book! It's so very rare to find a book that completely surprises me, and that is exactly what this one did. Dark Companion has a bit of a Jane Eyre feel going on, which is also mixed with mystery, folklore and supernatural elements. Marta Acosta has crafted such an intriguing novel with new and creative concepts that will most definitely surprise and awe you.

"Dark Companion is a surprising YA gothic novel that eerie feeling and you will shiver with its spookiness. The whole setting was descriptive and dark. The story will slowly swallow you inside it and you find it extremely compelling."

Thanks, Lorelei and Jane! I checked with my local B&N yesterday and it wasn't there yet, but other people have spotted it. I'm hoping I'll get my books from my publisher soon.

Hi, Dot, thanks! You'll be happy to know that I'm writing a book featuring Mary Violet that's funnier, more romantic, and with poetry. I can't stay in one category for very long.

Lori, I hope you like it!
