Event News & DARK COMPANION Audiobook Contest

I'll be talking about and reading from Dark Companion at wonderful Book Passage in Marin County soon and also giving away some promo swag:

Friday, September 28, 7:00 p.m.
Book Passage
51 Tamal Vista Blvd.
Corte Madera, CA 94925

This is a special teen event, but you don't have to be a teen to come and say hello!

Reading aloud is difficult, so I'll practice beforehand, but I'm not a professional, like Kate Reading, who narrates my Dark Companion audiobook. Tor Teen sent me a few copies of this audiobook. You know what that means, right? Yar! (It's National Talk Like a Pirate Day, so please Yar! and Argh! along.)

CONTEST: To win a copy of Dark Companion audiobook on CDs, just leave a comment below telling me how you feel about pirates. Personally, I love the billowy pirate shirts and tall boots thing. I think Tim Curry is a great pirate in the classic Muppet Treasure Island.

The contest runs through September 30 and is international. You can score an extra point by Tweeting about my event or mentioning it on your blog or whatever. You must leave a valid email address.

Next week I'll have a contest for audiobooks of my Casa Dracula series, which are all now on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. Amazon is having a promotion where you can get a FREE Casa Dracula audiobook when you sign up for Audible membership. You can click on the audio covers above to listen to free samples of my books.

GRATUITOUS VIDEOS OF THE DAY

You know how I said I wasn't going to obsess about themes? Yeah, well, I meant it at the time, but it's frickin TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY!

I probably wouldn't want to meet a pirate in real life but they are fun in books and movies.

I love Johnny Depp as a pirate. I think pirates are gorgeous and sexy and mysterious. Please enter me in contest. Thanks for the giveaway. Tore923@aol.com

Hey, everyone!

-Candrbeyer, the dirtier the better!

-Sandy, I think most real life pirates are about 14 years old and heavily armed. They can probably be bought off with videogames and candy.

-Tore, Johnny Depp gave us the rock and roll pirate. Oh, the guyliner! You should read Suzanne Johnson's urban fantasy Royal Street, which has great sexy pirates.
