Roxanne Rhoades's HEX & THE SINGLE WITCH is Released!

"If you're looking for a steamy paranormal read, that features not only all of your favorite kind of Supes and lots of hot smexing, this book is definitely for you. To top it all off, it's set during Halloween!"

Many of you know Roxanne Rhoads from her terrific Fang-tastic Books blog, or as the coordinator of Bewitching Book Tours, but she's also an author. Congratulations to Roxanne on the release of Hex and the Single Witch, a sexy urban fantasy and the first book in the Vehicle City Vampires series.
Anwyn Rose is descended from a long line of powerful witches yet she can barely cast spells young witchlings have mastered. She has one functioning witch gift, the power of knowing, which has enabled her to find a position as a Detective on Flint’s Preternatural Investigation Team.

It’s a new era in Vehicle City. After the auto factories shut down, the human residents left the city by the thousands making it the perfect new haunt for supernaturals of all sorts, especially vampires- who now ran the city.

Paranormal crime is on the rise. An old evil has slithered in along with a serial killer, who appears to be a vampire, and is draining young women in the city.

Anwyn is on the case with her sexy partner Detective Mike Malone. Complicating things is her relationship Galen, a vampire who looks more guilty than innocent, although Anwyn trusts her instincts even if her power is on the fritz.
This book sounds as if Roxanne's setting is inspired by Flint, Michigan, where she participates in an annual fundraiser for local farmers. Roxanne's always supported the writing community, so we're glad to help support her good cause.

You can find out more about Roxanne and her new book at her sites or on her blog tour stops.

Time-Travel Downton Abbey!

If you're like me, you're always thinking, "Gee, I'd like Downton Abbey better if they had some ghostly interactions and time-travel elements in between all the drama with the Crawley family and their servants. Well, you're in luck! Julian Fellowes, who pretty much writes half of all class dramas on British television, also wrote the adaptation of From Time to Time,, which I happened to catch on Netflix:
A British ghostly haunting story spanning two worlds, two centuries apart. In 1945, at the end of World War II, 13-year-old Tolly finds he can travel mysteriously between the present and 1805 and he begins an adventure that unlocks family secrets laid buried for generations.
It's a fairly cornball show and it has Maggie Smith playing the role of cranky grandma that Fellowes always has her play. (I prefer her as a slutty bon vivant, but that's just me.) Anyway, corny or not, it's entertaining and suitable for kids.

GRATUITOUS VIDEOS OF THE DAY

Did you hear the new James Bond theme song by Adele? That inspired the theme.

Hey, Dot! Yes, yeah for the blogger authors like Roxanne and also Cat Winters, who blogged for years as Catherine Karp. You'll miss out on GVDs today because I just lost the post I was writing and I'm not doing it again! Hope you're well and reading something fabulous.

Oooh, Hex and the Single Witch looks fun!

Speaking of Bond songs, have you seen Shirley Bassey's version of Pink's "Get The Party Started"? Amazing!

Hey, Michelle! I just checked out the video. Stylistically, it's great, but I don't know that that song works with Bassey's voice. I'd love to see the same visuals with another song. She's still tremendously popular in England and has an amazing voice. Thanks for the tip!
